At a minute to seven it will be 7.4 degrees centigrade

The British have a world reputation as being obsessed with the weather, and it's many vagaries around their fair isles. With the recent completely expected snowstorm, the BBC have decided to cash in on the obsession with a new twenty-four hour weather channel.

"It will replace the current News24 channel," said Harry Caine, the BBC weather co-ordinator. "Most of the items on that channel recently have been weather related, so anybody who does actually watch it, and we're not sure anybody does, they will not notice the difference."

The new continually running format will be split into hour long chunks; finally justifying the BBC's insistence that it needs fifty-five weather forecasters. The first part of every hour will be spent explaining why the previous hour's forecasting was wrong. Next up is the following hour's weather in unprecedented detail, before the rest of the day gets a look in. Finally the hour is finishing off with a detailed look at the following day, and the next five days - getting increasingly vague.

"Everybody knows that the weather forecast changes hourly," Caine continued. "This way, we can keep that up to date. In addition, by swapping forecasters every hour as well, people just need to watch until a forecaster gives the weather that they want for the rest of the week."

There are still a few glitches to iron out of the show before it airs, mainly that the meteorologists often get the weather for right now wrong, and they can use a window for that.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
