The Bang-ker?

In an new attempt to boost ratings, a new feature has been introduced to the to the popular, but waning show, "Deal or No Deal".

The box containing the "1p", will now also contain a device which when the box is opened by one of the contestants, will explode and launch the person opening the box into the ceiling.

First to go was Mrs Edna Ravenscroft of Southend who opened the box during a game played by Michael Johnson last night. Mrs Ravenscroft was initially delighted to have removed the 1p from the game, then realised the fate that awaited her.

3 seconds later the box exploded and she was rocketed fifty feet into the air. Surprisingly enough, however she survived and was still around to congratulate Mr Johnson on his win of £35,000.

Noel Edmonds described the addition to the show this morning as "the sort of thing that television needs. I would even pay for a TV licence to watch that".

The change in the show's format has earned it the nickname "Death or No Death".

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
