Kellie Pillock, the mother in the centre of the case of the three year old smoker has been arrested on benefit fraud charges when her 'son' came forward to defend her.
It transpired that the three year old in question is actually twenty-three year old Michael Pillock, brother of Kellie. Michael suffers from a rare genetic disorder that makes him appear to be a very young child, and the pair had concocted a way to get child benefit for Kellie, whilst Michael claimed his disability benefit.
"The clues were there," said prosecutor, Ben Zine. "In the original transcript it was pointed out that Michael was 'an accomplished smoker', who 'looked like he'd been smoking for years'. As he was supposedly only three, how could this be possible?"
Michael had come forward believing his big sister to be in trouble over his twenty-a-day habit, not realising that the benefit fraud would then be levied.
"If I'd known, I'd have kept schtum," Michael said in his squeaky voice. "Kellie had kept out of prison before, and now they're going to send her away for eight years! Who's going to buy my fags for me now? For some reason, they won't sell them to me, even with an ID card."
