In the midst of these recession hit times, it's consoling to know that the BBC is doing it's bit to help our ailing economy.
Wallace and Gromit will return to our screens on Christmas day, filling a gap left vacant by Morecambe and Wise many years ago.
Economist Robin Swyne said:
'There's no doubt that economic downturns are caused principally by a lack of consumer confidence, so for the Beeb to put Wallace and Gromit back on the box this Xmas is a stroke of pure genius.
'Anything that puts a smile on the faces of the great British public is okey dokey by me,' said a beaming PM Gordon Brown.
Wallace and Gromit unfortunately could not comment as they're made of plasticine.
More as we get it.
