Irishman less than pleased with Christmas gift - more gab

Funny story written by Irish In America

Tuesday, 9 December 2008

County Mayo, Ireland: Father of four, Damian McManus, woke early Christmas morning to view the delight on the faces of his young children when they saw that Santa Claus had paid them a visit during the night, but was less than delighted with the gift he himself received - more gab.

Speaking after opening his gift, presented by the children, Burke had this to say,

"In fairness, it was hard to hide my disappointment. I thought that this year maybe I'd have gotten something different. I'd dropped a lot of hints to the wife about an iPhone or a GPS system for the delivery truck. I mean, when you see there was no imagination used or nothing it's a bit of a slap in the mouth. And my parents are coming down for dinner and sure they'll no doubt bring me the same thing."

Pressed about her husband's attitude towards his gift his wife, Siobhan, was far from apologetic.

"When he stops giving me cookery books and perfume for Christmas, then maybe I'll think about the iPhone."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
