The new name on policemen's lips with regard to the m*rder of TV presenter Jill Dando is singer, producer and well-known Cokemeister, Boy George, it has been assumed...by me.
George, real name Dowd O'Boy, has escaped the attention of the police for years until recently, when it was realised that, in questioning loner and nutcase Barry George, they were just a tiny step away from catching the ex-Culture Club singer in their net.
Mr O'Boy's string of hits with Culture Club, such as Ooo, I Really Want To Hurt You, Killer Chameleon and I'll Grumble On Ya, should really have given the police some clues, but amazingly, it wasn't until they saw the similarities in the names, that they allowed Barry George to go free, and developed the Boy George line of enquiry instead.
O'Boy's flagging career took a further downturn recently, when it was announced that he was no longer a Cokehead, the thing that had appealed to sympathetic music fans, and had kept him in the public eye.
This new investigation is certain to revive the singer's fortunes, and perhaps, to a new Greatest Hits release.
