Pythoner John Cleese has apologetically informed Michael Palin that he is no longer the funniest Palin.
The rise of Sarah Palin has prompted comedy producers and directors to compete for the comic prowess of the Alaskan Ice Princess.
Cleese has emerged victorious after having persuaded Palin to star in his film remake of The Best Skits of Monty Python.
Cleese explained he would cast the Alaskan ingenue in the famous dead parrot skit:
"We tried her as the pet store clerk and as the disgruntled customer, but it just wasn't exactly right. Then we stumbled on the role of the parrot and it was perfect. Alive she can recite an incredible number of memorized lines without comprehendinding a jot nor a tittle of the meaning. Dead, she is spot on, senseless with beautiful plummage!"
