Following news that a Man in Finchley is being forced to change his Cat's name from David, a man in Nottingham has offered his name in exchange for the moniker of David.
Tiddles Smith, 80,has written to the man in Finchley, offering the name of Tiddles in exchange for the more normal David. Smith has the full support of his wife Pumpkin, and sons Smudgy and Tinker have also said that they will support their old Dad.
Speaking on behalf of Finchley Council, worker Rover Jones said: 'This is a very kind offer on Mr Smith's behalf, and I believe that the man in Finchley has agreed to the name change'
A man from the Electorate support team is looking into the legality of it all. He said: 'If people have pet's names, and Pet's have men's names, then that leaves the door open to all types of wrong-doing and illegality. It means that people might get into power when they have not fairly won the election. This is not America after all'.
