In an unusual turn of events, it was revealed that Dean Fenton, 17, of Peckham, who was stabbed to death last night in an apparent dispute outside a KFC, was not 'the life and soul of the party', 'loved by all who met him' or indeed 'an angel who showed kindness to everyone he met'.

Dean, who, it was revealed, was neither on the verge of taking his GCSEs or about to go on holiday, was stabbed three times in the chest by his assailant who has yet to be traced.

"It's heartbreaking when something like this happens," said DI Earnest Expression, "more so when the victim appears to have been relatively normal by all accounts."

Many have suggested that being 'an angel', 'full of life' and 'bubbly' were high-risk characteristics likely to make teens potential victims; of all the teenagers who have been stabbed this year, all have had 'glittering futures', 90% could 'brighten up a room' with their presence and 77% had a 'wonderful smile'.

'Dean was a bit of a pain in the arse actually,' said a friend who did not wish to be named. 'He owed me money, too. I won't get that back now, will I...'.

However, the news media were working overtime last night to find some kind of angle they could use. The Mirror's headline 'He drew a flower when he was 7; now he's dead' will be competing with the Sun's 'Those big blue eyes have gone out forever...'.

Tonight, the BBC will be starting a new 6-part programme that shows parents, using morphing photographic techniques, what their children would grow up to be like had they not been stabbed to death.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
