Another road sign in Mr Lyde's collection

An irate pop music fan from Loughton, Lance Lyde, is suing the Department for Public Works over a sign outside the pub he frequents.

A devoted fan of the songs "Dyna-Mite", "Tiger Feet" and "Lonely This Christmas", Lyde was reported as being livid having waited for 5 hours in the pouring rain by a sign "Mud on Road" for his heroes to appear.

He said:

"I was going for a quiet pint at my local 'The Dog and Vomit' when I saw this incredible red sign saying "mud on road - please stop here before proceeding".

"Now, I was the group's number one fan in the 70's, yet never ever got the chance to see them. I was so excited that had it not been for the inclement weather, I would have wet myself.

"I rushed into the pub and ordered a take-away tea and pork pie, together with a packet of salt and vinegar crisps to sustain me and immediately went back outside to wait at the sign.

"However, after 5 hours standing in the wet, damp and even rain, there seemed to be no, if you pardon the pun, sign of my heroes Mud, so I took note of the 0870 number on the sign, went home, looked up the equivalent on www.saynoto0870.com and phoned to play merry hell with them.

"I feel it's a false representation breaking the trade description act if you ask me."

Lance Lyde previously took the Department for Public Works for task over their "major road works" signage when he found out that the major road in question wasn't actually working. After a £300,000 case lasting 4 months, he lost, but the solicitors didn't.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
