London - (Crafty Mess): A top secret Regent's Park summit between the US Ambassador and London mayor Boris Johnson has thrashed out a deal converting America's backlog of £5 million in unpaid congestion charges into a charitable 'donation.'
This will bankroll the erection of a statue of Gulf War mastermind President George Bush Senior on a site overlooking a former MoD depleted uranium depot on the Isle of Dogs.
Envoy Robert 'Katie' Holmes Tuttle met Johnson under the wisteria-hung official residency terrace today after a four year stand-off between the Ambassador and former mayor Ken Livingstone.
Tuttle is believed to be looking forward to suing Livingstone for gross defamation and slander following the congestion charge spat which saw Red Ken call Tuttle a 'chiselling old crook'.
"Now we've got the bastard by the short 'n' curlies, Boris!" Tuttle guffawed.
"And by the time I've done that deal on cheap North Korean imported bronze we'll cut the statue erection costs to under five grand.
"I'll spilt the difference with you 50-50 if you promise not to day a word..."
