In a bid to gain popularity with the public,Irish government is set to review a 500 year old document written by the catholic church.
The document, titled the Anglo-Hibernicus implicitly hands over jurisdiction of all British lands to the people of Ireland. It has full backing from Rome and even the queen's press office acknowledged the legal ramifications of the document.
When the Anglo-Hibernicus was first drafted by Pope Murphy the first, most of Ireland's natives were wandering around aimlessly in bogs singing songs so a mass invasion was impractical. However with the arrival of the Celtic Tiger and Ireland's new found wealth(mainly funded by revenue from postcards of donkeys, thatched cottages and wild red hair lassies), an invasion is very feasible.
Ireland's government were tight lipped about the whole affair but one close source produced an invoice for 50,000 litres of green paint signed by Brian Cowen himself.
It was fobbed off as a St Patrick's Day expense but in reality it just may be used to re-paint the thousands of red post boxes in the UK after invasion has succeeded.
We will just have to wait and see.
