There was pandemonium in London today when Gordon Brown was shot during a visit to a Marks & Spencer store in Oxford Street. Ambulance crews were called and Mr Brown was rushed to hospital, where his condition is described as 'stable'.
Mr Brown was just about to pay for a pair of trousers and some underwear when a black youth immediately in front of him tried to rob the till of cash. He attempted to restrain the youth, who then pulled out a gun and shot Mr Brown in the backside.
Mr Brown's wife, Mrs Brown, who was accompanying her husband, said:
"It was terrfying. Gordon was just trying to stop him getting hurt, when the youth pulled out his shooter and popped one in his ass!"
Police say the black youth is known to them, and shouldn't take more than a couple of years to track down and arrest.
Mr Brown, a greengrocer from Lewisham, is expected to make a full recovery, and should be back at work weighing carrots and spuds in two to three weeks.
