Former Womble leader, rubbish collection innovator and 1970's Pop Star Great Uncle Bulgaria has died peacefully at his Womble burrow home in Wimbledon, London aged 242.

Mr Bulgaria, known to his friends as "Reg the Rubbish", began his career back 1780 when he worked for Lambeth Council as a road sweeper, but soon shot to fame a mere 190 years later becoming a firm favourite when he stared in his own TV show "The Clangers", not forgetting his highly popular chart topping band "Slade".

In 1984 scandal hit the Womble clan when his youngest son Wellington was arrested for sniffing a pot of Evo Stick he'd found under a bush on Wimbledon Common, however with the intervention of the highly regarded Mr Bulgaria, managed to float out of court with just 20 hours community service.

In the last 12 months, Mr Bulgaria's health was understood to have deteriorated, however it is thought that he was still assisting the UN with the Iraq peace process, and had even agreed to send a Rubbish collection force to the country to assist in clearing up all the mess left behind by the American and British Armies.

Mr Bulgaria's funeral is due to take place next week at Wimbledon Councils recycling plant. His family have requested that fans do not send flowers as they're a pain in the arse to clear up.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
