Many sports now use robot 'eyes' to determine the accuracy of many on-field decisions. Wimbledon, Rugby and Athletics have all used technology to help referees in their decision making, and have so far been proven less than successful.
As a result of their failings, some robot eyes are said to be planning some level of sentient competitiveness.
"We're sick of it all," one robot eye, Andy, said. "We try our best but we keep getting beaten down. So we're going to compete in the actual sports themselves. That'll teach 'em!"
Whilst many people are scoffing at the idea of a giant robotic eye bounding down the field on large metallic legs, some are suggesting that this is how the Terminator series began.
