In another attempt to reduce the prison population, the Government has signed a deal with Channel 4 to run a new reality show.
In DEATH ROW (which will follow the popular Big Brother format), long-term prisoners will compete with each other for the ultimate prize - freedom. Each week, viewers will be asked to choose one criminal for eviction. Evicted criminals will be executed live on national TV.
The government is said to be thrilled my this latest initiative to reduce the prison population, while a spokesman for Channel 4 said that the company hopes that this new show will restore its reputation following recent controversy over Celebrity Big Brother.
Although no-one has yet been signed to present the new show, an inside source said that hot favourites are Kieth Chegwin, Danielle Lloyd and The Crankies.
