Members of golf clubs across the UK have staged a massive protest over green taxes. Thousands of retired men mistakenly think they must pay tax to play golf.
In protest to the taxes, the old giffers are driving in convoy down the M1 in golf buggies. This as caused huge disruptions for commuters travelling to work.
A member of the Pringle Brigade took time out to talk to The Spoof.
"These taxes are absolutely ridiculous. I've worked for 55 years, paying taxes; my state pension only just covers my golf membership. This is just another excuse for me to move to the Algarve." Says Albert Hall, 69.
The Spoof caught up with Reg Holdsworth of The Bill Police Force, who is overseeing the protest.
"It's crazy, total mayhem! On average we take £50,000 in speeding fines a day on the M1. Well, looks like we?ll be buying our own booze at the Christmas party." Says a grumbled Reg.
Gordon Brown has advised commuters to travel by plane over the next week.
