Passengers on a public bus in Hull were said to be 'sickened' today, after witnessing a drawing of a penis and testicles on one of the windows.
The image, about 30cm high and 20cm wide, had been etched with a finger into the early morning condensation on the grimy glass window of the bus. Nobody aboard witnessed the work being created.
One woman, about 50, who wished to remain nameless, said:
"It was absolutely shocking! And, well, so beautiful, in a strange kind of way, if you know what I mean."
Another passenger, also a middle-aged lady, was a picture of revulsion.
"It's revolting what goes on in some people's minds! It's abnormal. They ought to lock them up, and throw away the key!" she said, and went off to ask the driver if she might review the onboard CCTV footage.
Two girls, aged about 18, were giggling at the back of the vehicle. One said:
"I think I might know who it was."
It's not the first time that obscene artwork has been displayed on public transport windows. Last December, an arse was drawn on the window of another bus, again, in Hull, and a huge pair of breasts on an early morning train, destined for Bridlington. None of the culprits were ever found.
