Two Chinese parents living in London have been sentenced to 10 years in prison after a series of accusations from their only child on 5 accounts of child abuse.
Zang and Liu Ping were accused of mental imprisonment, psychological terrorism and emotional trauma inflicted upon their 18 year old son, Wang.
"Father was strict. He often say, 'You forget to study, I forget to feed you'", said Wang, looking over his shoulder to see is his father was lurking around.
"I want to become airline pilot, he say 'No, you be doctor! You be success'".
Zang and Liu would occasionally lock Wang in his bedroom and feed him scraps of meat for every math puzzle he could answer.
"What so hard about 142 multiplied by 186!! You do this in head, no calculator!!", Wang's father used to scream.
Asian parents are known to be different culturally to Western parents. Whereas parents in Western countries are known to allow their children to chose the path they feel is right for them, Asian parents typically force their offspring into careers and marriages that, whilst may not make the children happy, will make the parents look good at dinner parties.
