Leading climatologists in Denmark say that the past long cold winter is yet another sign of global warming. Sigge Ennes from the University of Copenhagen says that the trend is now irreversible. "Higher levels of CO2 in the atmosphere from mankind burning fossil fuel will cause colder weather as global warming escalates."
"Global warming is forecast to change life as we know it for modern man with winters growing longer and colder and summers growing shorter and less warm."
With the warming trend caused by man Professor Ennes predicts "In less than twenty years you may see dog sleds in Regents Park."
Cautious residents in the UK are already stockpiling peat and buying heavy woolen jumpers and cardigans in preparation to protect themselves from the next stage of global warming.
