The new portrait of the "Spitting Image" puppet of Tony Blair unveiled in the National Portrait Gallery this morning is considered a masterpiece of Alexander Adamson's work.
Ralph Harris, whose portrait of the Spitting Image puppet of The Queen was recently exhibited there said "Can you tell what it is yet? Two years to paint, blimey it takes me two minutes". Adamson, who specialises in paintings of puppets like Miss Piggy and plays the "Didgery Doo" said, "Its not a puppet its him! He's been sitting in a chair posing for two years." "No change there then" said our art critic.
