UK coalminers have asked the British government if they can carry Maggie Thatcher's coffin to her grave just like she carried many of them to their graves back in the 80's.
In the days of coalminer's strikes, Arthur Scargill and Margaret Thatcher PM, she wasn't particularly popular in the UK's coalmining regions. In fact the miners would gladly have buried her there and then. However, it was not possible because the miners lifts were not working due to the strikes that she caused and they couldn't have dumped her body down below.
She did however, cause the closure of the majority of UK coalmines whilst allowing cheap and very nasty coal imports from Eastern Europe. This in turn, killed many miners who lost their jobs, respect and futures.
Maggie was always a controversial PM especially after agreeing with Ronald "Cowboy" Reagan in his Utopian dream of a "Star Wars" defence system to conquer the Russians and of course her constant battle with Helmuth Kohl, the German chancellor.
Unfortunately, she will be mostly remembered for her "Iron Maiden" stand against the miners and their request to dump her body in a lifeless coalmine outside of Mansfield should be respected. Her ghost can then roam the lonely shafts that once were the backbone of British industry until she decided to declare them as "dead!"
