Sources close to former Prime Minister Baroness Thatcher have stated today that senior members of the Tory part are urging her to die. The hope that is Thatcher can be persuaded to slip peacefully away during the run up to George Osbourne's next budget and that the inevitable fuss about the decision to grant her a state funeral will draw attention away from the savage cuts that the government want to push through.
Some Conservatives close to David Cameron also feel that the death of Thatcher would be a harmonizing event for not just the party but for the coalition as a whole, and if they play it correctly the event could be used to discredit the Mayor of London Boris Johnson who is seen as a threat to Cameron's leadership. Any state funeral would be very unpopular especially with the tax payers of London who would foot the bill and have been hit hard by the Royal Wedding and the Olympics in recent years. Having the procession wend its way through the city to Maggie's native Finchley would be a huge police operation.
One of Thatchers former political foes Ken Livingston commented that he would be glad to assist in getting Thatcher to Switzerland, however so far there has been no comment from the Prime Minister. Baroness Thatcher's daughter the reality TV star Carol Thatcher has said talk of her mothers death being planned was "disgusting" however efforts to find Thatcher's son Sir Mark Thatcher for comment proved fruitless.
This news comes just weeks after the Prime Minister David Cameron was overheard urging Prince William to see his way clear to make the Duchess of Cambridge pregnant in time for it to keep the Labour Party Conference out of the news.
