Our pressroom has witnessed some amazing events but none to approach our excited Royal Correspondent who was overcome by the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
He ran along the Thames towpath interviewing happy people gazing at the river as the boats went by. 'I've waited sixty years for this day!' exclaimed one of those watching the parade, one Liz Windsor 'you can't beat the thrill of a grand parade. I'm sure the Royal Household must be pleased with me for keeping them in employment for all this time.'
'You've been a real brick, Mummy' said Charlie 'but don't you think sixty years is enough?'
Our Royal Correspondent felt obliged to break in with whoops of joy and words of adulation that brought smiles to everyone's faces.
But Daddy Philip took a swipe at Charlie. Luckily our Royal Correspondent jumped bravely between Father and Son, taking a blow to his nose that brought tears to his eyes.
'How I love them all' he declared later to the excited pressroom through bloodied lips 'I have experienced the wonder of Monarchy.'
