A recent attempted satellite launch by North Korea failed when the rocket malfunctioned and crashed into the sea.
Korean state television hailed this a mighty success for the imperious new leader Kim Jong-un.
Deputy Korean leader Kim Wunmad-guy said "In spite of what the western world may think, this was a totally legitimate launch with no military connotations whatsoever."
The rocket was 10 seconds into its flight programme when it suffered a catastrophic guidance failure causing it to plunge into the sea.
Kim Wunmad-guy added "The rocket crashed into the sea with a minor explosion. The resultant mushroom cloud and tsunami where caused by natural weather conditions that coincidentally occurred at the same time."
