They guy who caught Derek Jeter's 3000th hit, who is simply known as the guy who caught Derek Jeter's 3000th hit, gave the ball back to Derek Jeter without asking for any money at all. He only asked that he be able to give Jeter a big wedgie and a pair of noogies.
"Boy this is the greatest day in my entire life", said the guy who caught Derek Jeter's 3000th hit. "Hell, I don't care if I am hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt. I can't ask Derek to pay me for the ball. If I did that, how is he going to afford to pay for all those stripes on his uniform?"
"Anyway, how many fans get the chance to give a future hall of famer a wedgie and a couple of noogies? Those alone have to be worth at least a couple of million".
"I got a great deal for the ball".
"Heck, Jeter even threw in a hot dog two beers and a Derek Jeter bobble head".
The guy who caught Derek Jeter's 3000th hit supposedly gave Jeter his wedgie and two noogies in the Yankee clubhouse an hour and a half after the game, although Yankee personnel said that Jeter had left the stadium well before that time.
