In the latest White Hart Lane sensation, Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has revealed that he is all set to lodge a £12 million shock bid for Britain's Got Talent Runner-Up, Ronan Parke.
Insiders say that Tottenham scouts were keeping a close eye on the Norwich based 12 year old, and were determined to land his signature, whatever the cost.
"This nipper's an investment in the future," a Spurs insider said. "Harry's been well impressed by the lad's composure, and pleased to see that he hasn't gone off the rails in any way, despite all the exposure he's been getting recently."
It's thought that Redknapp is keen to sign Ronan as a replacement for Croatian star, Luka Modric, although he doesn't yet consider the plucky 12 year old to be the finished article.
"His singing's all right," Redknapp confided in a source. "But his close control needs working on, and I wasn't at all sure about his magnanimity in defeat, judging by the way he congratulated Jai McDowall on Saturday. But we'll soon knock that out of him."
Club insiders are hard at work already, rebranding young Ronan. It is anticipated that because of his resemblance to Canadian singing sensation, Justin Bieber, that Ronan will wear the Brazilian style name of 'BIEBERINHO' on his shirt, and will be allocated squad number 76.
More as we get it.
