Ahead of Manchester United's showcase Champions League Final against Barcelona at Wembley on Saturday, Old Trafford based sources have indicated that at some stage in the game, Ryan Giggs and Chicharito may well be pulled off.
One insider said that it is highly likely, that at 37 years of age, United legend, Giggs may have to be pulled off, and allowed to sit on the bench for a much needed breather.
Tacticians at the club explained that because of Barcelona's possession football, the United midfield will probably spend the duration of the game running their bollocks off, and after about 70 minutes, certain individuals will, in all probability need to be withdrawn, and substituted.
It's common knowledge, that at 37, Giggs can hustle, harry and chase with the enthusiasm of a man ten years his junior, but many doubt that he can endure the full distance in such a fraught situation.
The circumstances with Chicharito are quite different, as analysts appear to agree that he will spend much of the game covering a great deal of ground, chasing through balls which may never arrive. A frustrating position for a striker to be in. It is generally accepted that the young Mexican hit man has adjusted well to life at Manchester United, but doubts remain as to whether he can keep it up for the full 90 minutes, which will probably culminate in him being pulled off too.
No such doubts have been expressed about the endurance of stars such as Park and Rooney, who have both been praised over the course of the season for having fantastic engines, coupled with an ability to go all night, like a steam train.
Fans have been advised to prepare for a fantastic climax to the season.
More as we get it.
