Inter Milan have announced on their website in the last few minutes that their manager Rafa Benitez, and the current boss of Liverpool, Roy Hodgson, are to swap jobs from Monday.
Benitez, who managed Liverpool until June, hasn't measured up to the high standards expected of him at Inter, and club president Massimo Moratti last night called the situation at the San Siro as :
"a mess."
Inter, after winning the previous five Serie A titles, are currently in seventh spot.
Meanwhile, on Merseyside, Hodgson, whose career has already included two stints at Inter, has also had a rough ride, briefly taking the Reds into the bottom three, before they rose slowly up the table into a position of 'relative safety'.
Fans of both clubs are now shouting for their respective managers to be sacked, and the 'weird solution' has been thrashed out in secret by both boards. Both managers have been told of the plan, and say they can't wait to get started in their new jobs.
