It was a great night for British football last night, as all the home nations except for England were in action against tough European opposition in the Euro 2012 qualifiers.
Northern Ireland fared best, as they hung on grimly for a 0-0 draw against Italy, whilst Scotland, the Republic of Ireland and Wales all lost.
Scotland were defeated 1-0 in Czechoslavakia, or whatever they call it these days, whilst the Republic went down 3-2 on home soil to the mighty Russia, formerly the Soviet Union, of course, or, if you prefer, CCCP.
Wales bungled their match by sliding to a 1-0 home loss to Bulgaria, who, if they've ever gone by any other name, I am not aware of it without googling, and I can't be arsed to do that at this time in a morning.
England play later against Montenegro, but, because they've changed their name and geographical boundaries so often, I'm not going to get into that.
And to think that all of the Premier League and Championship games were put on hold this weekend for that load of shit.
