Diego Maradona has emerged as a shock potential replacement for Sir Alex Ferguson should the Manchester United boss retire at the end of this season.
Although Ferguson has said that he wishes to carry on it may be a case of the spirit being willing but the flesh no longer up to the strains of top flight football. Diego Maradona has recently struggled as Argentina supremo and has no previous experience of UK football. However, he does have some key attributes for the job. His recent tirade after the international against Uruguay means Ferguson's infamous hairdryer treatment would not be missed. Gamesmanship is another area that Maradona is strong on. The legendary 'Hand of God' goal suggests that he would do anything to win. His total lack of ability to lose with good grace is yet another plus point for the Argentinian.
Manchester United were not commenting on the story earlier today. This suggests that Maradona may well be Old Trafford bound in the summer.
