Paul "Gazza" Gascoigne flew into Glasgow yesterday in an attempt to resurrect his wretched career.
The former England midfielder has been without a job in football since his sacking from English Conference Division club Kettering Town in 2005, despite being linked with moves to Buckie Thistle, Nairn County and Turriff United.
Gascoigne will have an audition with SFA SPL club Rangers and hopes to finally return to professional entertainment in the shape of club mascot.
Speaking from his Byker bedsit he told High Sports News: "I'm looking forward to it, it's a challenge for me and I'm going up there with an open mind. I don't know what it's going to be like but I'm looking forward to it."
"I'm looking forward to getting back on the pitch as the Gers' mascot. I'm a bit nervous and it's a new challenge.
"I have trained really, really hard. This is an opportunity for me to get out of England, go up there and enjoy myself. I hope to play a good tune and entertain the fans."
In preparation for his audition Gazza has had his dazzling bright Orange suit dry cleaned, been practicing his flute and marches!
