Concerns have recently arisen in East Anglia over a possible return to football for the beard of former Manchester United star Royston Maurice Keane, current manager of Ipswich Town.
The beard, last seen when Keane's Sunderland side were soundly beaten 4-1 by Bolton Wanderers, has been a source of much anxiety for Tractor Boys fans, who have seen their side pick up only 2 points in a desperately slow start to the Championship season.
BBC sources indicate that Keane does not plan to make an effort to remove the beard until his Ipswich side can pick up 3 points.
Despite the arrival of midfielders Carlos Edwards and Grant Leadbitter from Sunderland, bookmakers are offering odds of less than 2/1 that the beard reaches Keane's waist at one point during his spell at Portman Road
