Tottenham are all set to make a dramatic £15 Million bid for soon to be Sunderland forward Darren Bent.
Bent is expected to join Sunderland from the White Hart Lane club later on today for a fee approaching £20 Million. However,Tottenham Manager Harry Redknapp has made no secret of his admiration for the England striker, and is keen to bring him back to the club.
"I've always liked Darren" said Redknapp, as the player prepared to leave the North London club, "...he offers a lot, and I would like to think we will be able to bring him here, once he has signed for Sunderland." Redknapp, whose determination to hold out for that £20 Million fee for Bent had initially delayed the deal, went on to say, "...Sunderland are looking to get back what they paid
Tottenham for him, but I think thats a bit much, I don't think he's worth that much. We'll offer what we think is a fair amount and see where it goes from there."
Tottenham have already signed, sold, and re-signed full back Pascal Chimbonda. The club are now looking to sell him again, with the intention of buying him for a third time "in about November", according to Redknapp.
