News from White Hart Lane today that haggard-looking Tottenham Hotspur boss, Harry Redknapp, is to star in the first decent new film in the 'Carry On' series for more than 30 years.
The film, titled Carry On Up Wembley Way, is a send-up of Spurs crazy season, charting the demises of Martin Jol and Juande Ramos, the initial success of Redknapp, their subsequent recent collapse, and last night's horrendous horrorshow at Burnley, where they managed to scrape home only because the Championship side had literally run out of steam.
Directed by Daniel Levy, in his first major motion picture production, the film is packed with trademark parody, farce, slapstick and double entendres, although there is a distinct lack of 'tittage'.
Spurs are expected to be relegated in May.
