Manchester United fans awoke to a living nightmare this morning when it was announced that Argentinian striker Carlos Tevez rather fancies joining Liverpool.
Tevez has been publicly unhappy about his limited appearances for United, despite doing a sterling job, and has been baffled as to why United have not moved to make his loan signing permanent.
For months now, United supporters have chanted to their manager: "Fergie, Fergie, Sign him up!" But it would seem that the appeals have fallen on deaf ears.
Tevez has stated that he does not feel like a member of the Old Trafford family, but has stated that he wants to stay in England, and that his family were happy living in Cheshire, so he would obviously prefer to remain in the North West. Which probably means Liverpool.
A United fan on Sir Matt Busby Way told us this morning:
"Tevez at Liverpool? That would be tragic. But maybe it'll give Fergie the kick up the arse he needs to motivate him into signing the player."
Tevez's 'owner' creepy businessman Kia Joorabchian was said to be rubbing his filthy hands together in gleeful money-grubbing joy.
More as we get it.
