In the latest example of the mind games that Sir Alex Ferguson is willing to play with his opponents in the Premiership, he has selected himself as a lone striker for the Manchester United vs Everton match this weekend.
In what is being seen as a taunt to Liverpool and Chelsea, Ferguson is essentially stating that regardless of who he picks, Manchester United are certain to win the league.
It is not the first time that Ferguson has tried something like this. He famously pushed Kevin Keegan into a near breakdown in 1996 when he selected Bertie Bassett, a man made entirely of liquorice to play to play centre back.
Keegan famous for his love of the confectionery, famously responded with the line "I'll love it, love it when we eat him".
