Chelsea manager Luis Felipe Scolari was right about Frank Lampard's goal in the 3-0 win against Hull City at the KC Stadium on Wednesday, say Tigers fans, with many admitting that only the strikes from Geovanni against Arsenal at the Emirates, and his free-kick at Spurs being better.
Scolari said that Lampard's goal was the third best goal scored in matches involving Hull this season, and even manager Phil Brown had to agree.
Brown laughed:
"Geovanni's brilliant thunderbolt at the Emirates rocked the Gunners back on their heels, and it was the platform for us to go on and actually win the game 2-1. It almost broke the net!"
But he was full of more praise for the Brazilian's free-kick at White Hart Lane in City's 1-0 win over Tottenham:
"That was a wonder-goal. It bent so much! He'd been practising on the training ground, and he can now bend the ball in a full circle - 360 degrees!"
Brown, the half-brother of Middlesbrough comedian Roy 'Chubby' Brown, was doubtful, though, about the intentions of England international Lampard, when he said:
"Lampard's wasn't bad, but some of the players still say it was a miscued cross."
Big Phil Scolari is 108.
