Manchester City, the richest football club in the world, have made a statement on the club's website, that the team will play seven of its home games in Abu Dhabi, increasing to nine games next season, and fifteen in 2010/11.
The arrangement will start on 13th September with the 'home' game against Chelsea. City will showcase their stars, including Shaun Wright-Phillips, the ex-Chelsea winger who moved back to City this week, and Robinho, whom they stole from under Chelsea's noses before the Transfer Window shut.
The 150,000-seater Middle Eastlands stadium in Abu Dhabi will be the venue, and any City fans with season tickets can gain entry as normal.
Unfortunately, though, in accordance with Sharia Law, no women will be permitted.
City's new owners have opted not to host the Liverpool game on October 4th in Abu Dhabi, fearing that light-fingered travelling Liverpool fans might 'clean out' the shops all over the Arabian peninsula.
