Paris - It was a stunning performance by Rafael Nadal. Nobody has as thoroughly whiped the court with Roger Federer in any recent years as he did to day on the red clay of Roland Garros. Even though he once again appeared to try and take a bite out his trophy rather than the traditional kiss, Nadal was his usual charming and warm self in his victory speech.
"I want to thank my opponent Roger Federer for not liking clay so much as he does grass", he smiled coyly and the French crowd laughed heartily at the translation. Rafa then continued, "I think it will be an interesting Wimbledon this year." To which the crowd roared its' approval.
Federer in return was short and too the point, "Congratulations to Rafa for a incredible tournament," the crowd cheered, "I want him to remember though that paybacks sometimes come sooner than expected.."Federer then said nothing
Several minutes after the two men left for the showers a trainer was summoned on emergency call to the showers. Rafael was on the floor of the locker room with a large red mark on the back of his thigh, which he claims Federer put there with a towel, "He towel whipped me!" shouted Nadal "I'm going to kill that sweesh bastard!"
Federer had already left the grounds and skipped his post match interview, something heretofore an unthinkable incident by the Swiss Grand Slam Champion.
"This one must have actually got to him," said Andy Roddick reached at his home in Texas, "If I were Roger I'd watch my back in the shower from now on."
