Dublin, Ireland - A new Europe wide survey has shown a growing interest amongst Europeans in the quintessentially American pastime of "Base Ball"
Overall, continent wide, 3% of people said that they were aware that the "World Series" was taking place up from 1% five years ago. Of this 3% however, 98% did not know why it was called the World Series as no team from outside North America took part.
Surprisingly the percentage of awareness dropped in the English speaking countries. Only 2% and 1% of British and Irish people respectively, expressed knowledge of the tournament.
One Irishman said that although he actually liked "Base Ball", he was put off by the inability of Americans to spell a simple word like "socks".
