English rugby and indeed the entire country has gone mental over its side's win in Paris last night.
Fans partied the night away after the 14-9 victory, actually assuming that next week they will beat South Africa in the final. The same South Africa that hammered them 36-0 four short weeks ago.
Fan, John Bull, from Leeds when asked about how he saw the final going enthused:
"We'll hammer those South Africans. They won't stand a hope against us!"
When reminded of the result of the game four weeks ago he replied:
"That was just a fluke! Bring it on I say!"
Sports psychologist, Bill McLaren, says:
"The euphoria that the win against the French has sparked has no grounding in fact or indeed within the realms of any conceivable rational process of thought. To listen to the media you'd think the Jules Rimet trophy was already in the bag for Will Carling and the lads"
And that kid who famously grabbed the soccer ball at top peoples' school, Rugby Comprehensive, and ran with it, thus inventing the game of rugby told us:
"I do not really know who shall win the final. I have 200 lines saying, cheaters never win, to bring to my head of house before prep this evening. So if you will forgive me I must cut along"
