LI Isle's Chris Simon appeared to be more brutal than American Idol's Simon when he delivered his two handed executioner's blow in a supposed "game". For his act of savage attack, he will be sitting out 25 games. "Most felons get twenty-five years for trying to behead someone ,unless they work for some royal power," was Hockey writer Giles Guiles, "The last time we looked neither the NHL nor the NY Islanders had that kind of monarchical power".
Simon defended his actions by claiming that hockey like European football is not sport: "All's fair in love and war. Sport is cricket, bowling and tiddly-winks. Even baseball has had its shining moments, like when Marichal crowned Roseboro. Football on the continent and the British Isles sets off riots...All I did was take a swipe at the enemy's head. He's have done the same to me. I play for the Isles...Long or Brit, violence is the name of the game!"
