A medical examination by healthcare workers at Old Trafford has revealed that Manchester United manager David Moyes is now 'older' than former boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
Moyes, who took control over the Reds in July 2013, was 50 years old at the time, while Sir Alex was a sprightly 71. Now, however, just over eight months later, Moyes has been judged to have the physical state of a man of 75.
Already sporting grey hair, and with an outward appearance of a haggard, troubled man whose problems are mounting by the match, last week's 3-0 home humbling by arch rivals Liverpool won't have helped.
And with a derby against in-form neighbours Manchester City coming up, Moyes may have more booing fans to contend with - something that certainly won't do much for his heart.
Fans, too, have noticed the rapidity of the Scot's aging process. One said:
"Moyes is aging faster than bamboo. It was never going to be an easy job taking over from Sir Alex, but he's managing to make it look supremely difficult to coach the biggest club in the world."
