The Washington Redskins or should I say, the former Washington Redskins, have officially changed their name to the Washington Redass Monkeys according to a spokesman for the team Saturday.
"We're tired of being pointed out by nut jobs", stated the representative Arness. "We hear it all the time. So we have changed it to Redass Monkeys and the players are responding to it. Expect a different team for the rest of the year as we might lose a few but they'll be carrying the opposing team off the field about one per period."
The rep also stated that he expected a lot of foul calls.
"You can't expect a regular human team when you face the Redass Monkeys. I predict that the other teams will be wanting us to change our names back. The players are inside now throwing fouls at each other."
Before leaving the podium, Arness was told that there were some representatives from PETA that wanted to speak to him.
