Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villain-Boas (AVB) has given Gareth Bale a belated Christmas present in the form of a pair of stabilisers that will stop him falling over in crucial Premier League soccer matches.
Welsh wizard bale was booked in the 2-1 win at Sunderland on saturday and will miss the News year day clash with relegation threatened Reading. It was his five booking in fifteen months for 'simulation'.
The former Saint (Southampton player) was booked after going down in the box after a challenge from Craig Gardner. Bale told Match of The Day "People keep saying I'm diving, but if there's contact it's not diving. Referees need to look more closely."
AVB announced the present to journalists today to quash speculation that Bale is a diver.
"He is just a frail lad from Wales - he never grew up in a coal mine like Tom Jones and Antony Hopkins. He is like a princess, he has pace, grace and a diamond tiara. The slightest contact can send him tumbling to the ground - he is not a cheat - so I have decided to add the stabilisers to keep him on his feet the next time is tackled on the pitch"
Bale will wear the stabilisers for the first time against Coventry in the FA Cup - subject to Football Association clearance.
