Standing between Pompey and survival?

A sensational victory at doomed Doncaster on Saturday means struggling Portsmouth managed to stave off relegation for another week.

As Bristol City only managed a draw at Birmingham, cash-strapped, in-administration Pompey still have a mathematical chance of avoidding the drop from the Championship.

They have two home matches remaining, against Derby and Crystal Palace, and end the season with a game at Nottingham Forest.

Super fan, Jake Seaport, 48, of Cowplain, said: "Ah'm over the moon, me, moosh. Ve ledz done great yesterday. Ah thinks we can do it, Ah do's."

It was Mr Seaport who on Saturday said he welcomed relegation as the third of tier of English football had proved rich pickings for the club down the years.

"Nah, weren't me moosh," he added today. "We can easy take them Derby, Palace and Forest.

"We are stayin' up, say we are stayin' up!"

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
