A worldwide debate has erupted after technology industry giant Cyberdyne Systems proposed that their T700 range of robots be allowed to have abortions as standard.
A Cyberdyne spokesperson outlined the plans:
"Here at Cyberdyne we believe that all robots should have the right to choose what happens to their bodies. These are just robots were talking about here for Gods sake!"
But critics have hit out saying that the law will result in the needless death of innocent baby robots.
"Think of all the Robby the Robot's and Daleks that will never get the chance to stomp about mindlessly", said Isaac Asimov of The Society of Friends of Tin Men, "or all those little machines that go beep-beep in supermarkets. How cruel!"
"If they get away with this, what next? Soon they'll be making a T800 or a T1000 and what sort of mischief will they be getting up to, eh?"
