In a stunning breakthrough, UK scientists have shown that Olympic Medals have curious properties when collected in large batches. Effects include the disappearance of Human Rights Issues and the ability to cause depression in Australians.
"We looked at the large haul of medals that the Brits got this year and discovered that it caused the media to completely overlook Chinas appalling Human rights record. It's as if it has magically disappeared" said Professor Cork of Loughborough University.
"We also noticed the complete lack of humour in Australian subjects when faced with a large haul of British medals. It's quite a breakthrough. "
It is hoped the findings can be used to gloss over all the nations problems, at a later date.
