'Bird on a bike', Victoria Pendleton, won gold in the Womens Pursuit at the Olympic Velodrome, and afterwards, it was revealed that the lyrics to the National Anthem are to be adapted in recognition of her tremendous efforts.
The Queen has bowed to pressure from Des Lynam, and agreed to the changes.
The National Anthem is dearly loved by all the British people, and is regularly sung with gusto at big sports fixtures, and when leaving a public house after a skinful.
The lyrics that will change are the words Victorious which will become Victoria, and Happy which will now become Naked. There will also be a complete reworking of the line after "glorious".
The revised anthem will be:
God save our gracious Queen,
Long live our noble Queen,
God save the Queen
Send her Victoria,
Naked and glorious,
Spandex and ly-crous,
God save the Queen
etc
Miss Pendleton, 27, was unavailable for comment. God Bless her saddle.
